Favorite Girl Groups and Biases

Annyeong! :)

So last time I posted about my guy group biases, and I COMPLETELY blanked and forgot to talk about INFINITE!!!!!! I love them so much haha :) The members are Sunggyu, Hoya, Dongwoo, Sung Jong, L, Woo-Hyun and Sungyeol. My bias from Infinite is between Sunggyu, Dongwoo and Sung Jong... I guess I'd have to go with Dongwoo cuz he is just so freaking hilarious and he has a really unique style. Plus he has the coolest hair :)

So I guess we're on to girl groups! There are definitely a few groups who I REALLY like but it's definitely going to be difficult for me to choose biases. Well, let's get to it!

First we have Sistar. I was introduced to Sistar through my South Korean friend Jake, and since then I've become obsessed with their music. Sistar only has four members, Hyolyn, Bora, Dasom, and Soyu. (There are other spellings so don't kill me, but these are the ones I've seen the most.) Actually, my bias for Sistar is pretty easy to decide. It's DEFINITELY Bora :D She is so beautiful, funny, nice, and she's a really good female rapper.

Another one of my favorite girl groups is Nine Muses :D They have a TON of members and I feel like I'm gonna butcher their names so I'll just tell you my bias, Kyungri <3 She is definitely my celebrity crush lol. Her picture speaks for itself so I'll just show you.

The last girl group I'll talk about is Orange Caramel. They're a sub-group of After School and the members are Nana, Lizzy, and Raina. My bias for Orange Caramel is definitely Nana :) She is super nice and pretty and funny and I've just always liked her voice and personality the most.

Well that's it for this post :) Thanks for reading!

Favorite Boy Groups and Biases

Hello again :)

It's been a while since I posted so I decided to talk about guy groups. I could talk about this topic for a VERY long time so I'm just gonna go over my most favorite boy groups and my bias for each group.

So first we have SHINee. Now, I LOVE SHINee. All of their music is so unique and cool and awesome and I could listen to it all day. There's Onew, Taemin, Key, Minho, and Jonghyun, but my bias is Taemin :) First of all, he is a GREAT singer which is always good, but he's also really funny, handsome XD, and I just seem to like him the most out of all the members.

Next we have Teen Top. Now as you most likely already know, Teen Top is my FAVORITE K-Pop group of them all. The members, if you don't remember, are C.A.P, Chunji, L. Joe, Niel, Ricky, and Changjo. The problem here, is that I love all the members soooooo much so it's pretty darn difficult to choose a bias. If I had to choose though, I think I'd go with L. Joe. He's freaking hilarious, his rapping voice is super cool, he's handsome in his own kind of way, and he's a Christian which is pretty dang awesome in my opinion. So yeah, I'd go with L. Joe.

I'll go over two more groups, so the next one is VIXX. VIXX uses a variety of genres and styles in their music, and all their members have really cool and likeable personalities which I why I really like them. Oh, and of course their voices are really good too :) Their members, as I mentioned in my first post, are Ravi, N, Hongbin, Leo, Hyuk, and Ken. I have two favorite members, Hyuk and Leo, but if I had to choose between the two, I'd go with Hyuk as my bias. Hyuk is the youngest of the group and has such a fun, yet shy personality about him. When I watched the group form, Hyuk was definitely my favorite because he seemed like the underdog but he made it into the group and he's doing so well :) I guess you could say that I'm proud of him.

The last group I'll talk about is EXO. Now EXO is a very large group of twelve members, but they are divided into two different groups, EXO-K and EXO-M. EXO-K sings their songs in Korean while EXO-M sings in Mandarin. I decided that I can't give you one bias from the entire group of twelve, so instead I'll give you one from both EXO-K and EXO-M. For EXO-K, my bias would most definitely have to be Chanyeol. He is soooooooooooooo awesome!!! Plus I've seen EXO on this Korean show Weekly Idol two times and both times Chanyeol has made me laugh the most and his personality is just really likeable. Out of every K-Pop idol, I would definitely want to be friends with him :) My bias for EXO-M would probably fall between Xiumin and Chen. Xiumin is a bit more reserved than Chen but both of them are really cool and have different things I like about each of them so it's hard for me to choose. I guess I'd have to go with Chen just because he matches my personality a little bit more and I feel like we would have a lot of fun together :)

Take a Leap

Hey guys and gals,

I really feel inspired to write another post for those who haven't listened to K-Pop and maybe who have an interest or don't in listening to it. Know this, I do not, by no means, want to force you to listen to it. I personally LOVE K-Pop as you probably know by now, but it's not for everyone so don't feel pressured to listen to K-Pop after reading this blog post. I would, however, encourage you to give it a go, listen to a few different songs by different groups, and just be open-minded.

Here are a bunch of my favorite K-Pop groups that you can search on YouTube or google. You'll find tons of different songs, so listen to them!

Groups:

  • Infinite

After hearing that one song and loving it soooooo much, I just had to check out their other music. Little did I know that I would be hooked and have over 20 songs by them on my ipod. I could try to tell you my favorite song by them, but it's just way too hard. There's "Never Go Back", "To You", and "Be Ma Girl", which are my absolute favorites along with so many others. They also made a comeback not too long ago called Teen Top Class and the songs on it are really awesome so go and support that too! Don't Know About K-pop?

Hey,
If you're reading this, you most likely happened to just randomly stumble upon it and you might not even know what it is. It's a blog ONLY about K-pop, and if you don't know what that is, well, you're in trouble. I'm not really here to educate you, because I really just want to do reviews and tell you about my favorite groups and singers, but I guess if you really don't know I can give a brief explanation. K-pop is, if you can't tell, Korean pop music. It's, in my opinion, soooooooooooooooo much better than our dumb-downed, sexualized, and ultimately boring American pop music. I'm not say all American music is like that, don't get me wrong, I'm just saying that most of it is not, by any means, going in the right direction. Anyways, back to K-pop.

There are TONS of different groups, sub-groups, and single artists, that go into training for years til their debut. For example, I recently watched the formation of one of my favorite K-pop groups, VIXX. It was televised on a show called Mydol, where ten guys trained together until they were reduced to six guys: Ravi, Ken, Leo, N, Hyuk, and Hongbin. N is the leader and main choreographer and dancer. Leo and Ken are the main vocals, Hyuk and Hongbin are backup vocals I guess you could say, and Ravi is the rapper. See? Different from American groups. I hope that was a good enough explanation...

I think that's all I really want to put in this blog. It was a nice introduction so I think we're good.
Signing off,

Jonathan
